Bold and colourful Moomin Art decorative towels produced by
a collaboration effort between organic towel brand "HIPPOPOTAMUS" and towel specialty store "TOWEL THINK LAB"
are now available for purchase.
HIPPOPOTAMUS, a Japanese company well-known for its innovative colours and hippo-themed towel products, has partnered with the Towel Museum Group to release a special collaborative collection at their Imabari-made luxury towel specialty store "TOWEL THINK LAB" GINZA SIX 4th floor store location.
Combining the original art, designs, and colours characteristic of HIPPOPOTAMUS with the premium-quality towels of TOWEL THINK LAB, the products in this collection showcase the best of both worlds — incredible comfort in unique styles. This collection is both visually striking and superbly water-absorbent, the perfect gift to celebrate special occasions.
First Collection: "The Moomins" Series
This towel series depicts different sceneries and global cultures as artistic motifs. A commemorative collection that showcases the whimsical characters of "The Moomins", a book series loved by the world over. The Moominvalley characters take center-stage in these framed designs and come in a variety of original and sophisticated HIPPOPOTAMUS colours.
Our pursuit for vibrant colours and superior functionality
TOWEL THINK LAB uses extra-long staple cotton in their products, a material widely regarded as the "king of cotton". The highest quality Pima cotton threads (a material with fibres that are very fine, long, and yet very durable) are blended with our vibrantly-coloured HIPPOPOTAMUS bamboo rayon fibres to create products with rich colour gradations and nuanced designs.
Pima cotton accounts for less than 1% of all cotton production, therefore is a material that is rare and highly sought after due to its superior water-absorption, ultra-soft texture, and silk-like sheen. Bamboo rayon likewise has incredible moisture-absorbent properties (twice that of cotton), as well as superior colour-fixing characteristics and durability.
Pima cotton is a very rare cotton that can only take less than 1% of the total cotton production. It has high moisture absorptive properties, soft and supple texture, and a beautiful silky luster.
Safe for Babies
The products in this collection have all earned the Class 1 designation issued by STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®; a certification received by clearing the most stringent safety tests available for textile products. Rest assured that our towels are guaranteed safe for everyone, even for teething babies.
