How to care for towelsTips to extend the life of your towels and keep them fluffy and fresh.

You want to keep your favorite towels for a long time. If you believe towels are at their best condition when they are brand new, and that it’s inevitable they get all crusty as you use them, allow us to change your mind. The more you use Hippopotamus towels, the more you can enjoy how the texture transforms through use if you know how to add a little extra care. Here are some tips on how to take care of your towels to keep them fluffy and fresh.
01.Our towels are glue-free, so they are fluffy from the start.
Hippopotamus towels are made of highly absorbent fibers and are not glued, as is done in most towel manufacturing methods. For this reason, they can absorb a lot of water right from the start of use without washing them first. For hygiene reasons, each towel is wrapped in a bag one by one before shipped. Dust and other particles may adhere to the product during the final production process or while it is displayed in stores. If you are concerned about this, we recommend that you wash the product once before use.
02. Shake it up and give it more volume.
We all hate the sad feeling when our favorite towels start to get soggy, right? There is a secret to bringing them back to life, and it’s very simple: shake the towel before hanging it to dry.The pile will rise and embrace the air, making it fluffy and gives back the volume it once lost! Dry it in the sun for the crispy finish or in the shade if you prefer fluffier. If you are using a dryer, hang the towels outside and put them in the dryer right before they completely dry, then dry them up at a low temperature for a softer finish. Even though it sounds too much to do every day, we promise you, it’s worth a try.
03. The more you use your towel, the richer the texture gets.
Hippopotamus towels are made by interweaving organic cotton and recycled bamboo fibers, which creates the one-of-a-kind refreshing feel. As the towel is washed repeatedly, the texture changes and becomes shaded, which means the subtle differences between the two materials become more pronounced, and the texture becomes richer. When you look at it up close, you can see how surprisingly intricate and complicated these fibers are interwoven.
04. Snip the loose pile threads with scissors.
Hippopotamus towels are made with a high pile fabric giving them a good texture and absorbency. If the pile thread is pulled out or breaks during use, please cut it with scissors before it gets stretched out any further. Be careful not to cut other threads.
